How to make the easiest ever Zero waste all purpose cleaner + tips // by Conscious Rebhell

I have always been struggling finding a very good cleaner that would not be toxic, made from natural ingredients and...not expensive. I always used to look (and buy) at the very fancy ones in zero waste shops and at the supermarket and spend spend spend a lot of (unnecessary) money for a specific brand, just because it looked cool and it smells good.

Since I discovered this recipe online (on Gittemary Johansen Youtube channel) I haven't go back to store bought ones.

This is the right cleaner if you are looking for something:

- inexpensive

- zero waste

- good for the environment

- vegan.

Let's go!

Ingredients:

- white wine vinegar;

- some citrus peels (limes, lemons, oranges)

There are no specific quantities as... it does not really matter!

Just make as much as you need!

You will also need a glass container (I used an old bottle of vinegar) and, when the cleaner it is going to be ready, an empty spray bottle (but you can use it even straight from the glass container).

Nothing easier than this: fill up your glass container with vinegar (about 3/4 of the container), add you citrus peels (I freeze them and use them straight when I make this cleaner)and...wait 2/3 weeks before starting to use this cleaner.

Some info and tips:

- this cleaner dissolves well dirt, grease, grime and kills bacteria!

- it contains (of course) acetic acid, which is often a component of store bought cleaners;

- the smell of vinegar will disappear in less than 1 hour;

- it is great even to clean windows. ZERO WASTE TIP: instead of using a cloth, use old newspaper to clean your windows. You'll be surprised on how well these 2 works together!

- instead of white wine vinegar you can use apple cider vinegar or white distilled vinegar BUT I do not suggest the use of malt vinegar or balsamic vinegar as they might stain.

Ho sempre avuto problemi a trovare un ottimo detergente che fosse non tossico, fatto con ingredienti naturali e...non caro. Tendevo sempre a comprare i marchi super fighi nei negozietti un po' "posh" o nei supermercati ed a spendere spendere spendere una quantita' pazzesca di soldi per una marca specifica, solo perche' mi pareva super cool o perche' profumava tantissimo.

Da quando ho scoperto questa ricetta online (sul canale di Gittemary Johansen) non sono piu' tornata indietro!

Questo e' il detergente ideale se ne cercate uno:

- salva tasche

- zero waste

- buono per l'ambiente

- vegano.

Vediamo come si fa!

Ingredienti:

- aceto di vino bianco;

- bucce di agrumi (lime, limoni, arance)

Non ci sono specifiche quantita' perche' in realta'...non importano!

Potete produrne la quantita' di cui avete bisogno!

Avrete anche bisogno di un contenitore di vetro (ho usato una vecchia bottiglia di aceto inglese) e, quando il detergente sara' pronto, una bottiglia spray vuota (ma potete anche usare direttamente il contenitore di vetro se non necessitate di uno spray).

Nulla di piu' facile: riempite per tre quarti la bottiglia di vetro, aggiungete le bucce (solitamente le congelo e le uso quando produco questo detergente) ed...aspettate 2/3 settimane prima di usarlo.

Alcune info e suggerimenti:

- questo detergente dissolve benissimo sporco e grasso, ed in piu' e' un potente anti batterico;

- contiene acido acetico (ovviamente), elemento spesso presente nei detergenti che si trovano al supermercato;

- l'odore di aceto sparira' in molto meno di un'ora, quasi istantaneamente;

- pulisce benissimo le finestre.

SUGGERIMENTO ZERO WASTE: invece d usare uno straccio per la pulizia delle finestre, usate dei vecchi giornali. Vi sorprendera' quanto funzionino bene senza lasciare aloni!

- se non avete aceto di vino bianco a disposizione, potete usare aceto di mele od aceto bianco distillato MA evitate di usare aceto di malto od aceto balsamico in quanto potrebbero macchiare!
