How to sterilize glass jars in the Oven and in the Microwave // by Conscious Rebhell

Hello folks, a quick video and article to show you how to sterilize glass jars.

It is always better to sterilize glass jars before using them so that our health will be protected from nasty stuff.

Let's see hot to do with 2 different, quick methods.

METHOD 1: Use the Oven

- switch on the oven at 110C (230F);

- when hot, place both jars and lids one next to the other (but they have to be separated, even the jars, in between each one of them) and leave them to sterilize for 20 minutes;

- after 20 minutes, remove them from the oven but BE CAREFUL as they are HOT;

- use them hot for hot food or leave them to cool down for cold food.

METHOD 2: Use the Microwave (only for JARS, not for LIDS!)

- switch on the microwave at the maximum power (mine is 900W and it works fine);

- fill up the glass with water, until 3/4 of the capacity;

- put a wooden stick inside the jars;

- put them in the microwave. You will need to leave the water TO BOIL for at least 1 minute;

- remove them from the microwave but be careful as they will be hot;

- use them hot for hot food or leave them to cool down for cold food.

Salve gente, eccovi un veloce articolo e video per spiegarvi come sterilizzare i barattoli di vetro prima di usarli.

E' sempre bene sterilizzare i barattoli prima dell'uso in modo da evitare varie intossicazioni alimentari.

Vediamo come fare usando 2 differenti metodi.

METODO 1: Sterilizzare usando il forno tradizionale

- accendete il forno a 100C (230F);

- quando pronto, mettete i barattoli ed i coperchi, separati, nel forno lasciando un po' di distanza tra di loro e lasciateli a sterilizzare per 20 minuti;

- dopo 20 minuti, rimuoveteli dal forno ma FATE ATTENZIONE in quanto saranno caldissimi;

- potrete usarli caldi per cibi caldi o freddi per cibi freddi.

METODO 2: Sterilizzare usando il microonde (solo per VASETTI, non per COPERCHI)

- accendere il microonde alla massima potenza (il mio arriva a 900w ed e' perfetto per questo);

- riempite i barattoli per 3/4 con dell'acqua;

- mettete dei bastoncini di legno dentro ogni barattolo (anche stuzzicadenti);

- ponete i barattoli nel microonde. Dovrete lasciare l'acqua a bollire per ALMENO 1 minuto;

- rimuoveteli dal microonde ma fate attenzione in quanto saranno caldi;

- potrete usarli caldi per cibi caldi o freddi per cibi freddi.
